In case you’ve been wondering what I’ve been up to and you want to know how I’ll be spending the next two months of my life, check out my new blog, HairStoryOnline.com. It’s been a long time coming but my co-author, Ayana Byrd and I finally developed a website where we can continue the conversation we started with out book, online. Thus the catchy name.
In all honesty, we also started HairStoryOnline because we hoped to attract the attention of our publisher and convince them that it was worth our time and their money to publish an updated copy of Hair Story, considering the original book came out in 2001. And guess what? It worked. Stay tuned because in February 2014, a new, updated version of Hair Story: Untangling the Roots of Black Hair in America will be hitting a store shelf near you. And, it will finally be available as an e-book too. Yippie!
Let me know if you have any ideas about what we must include in the updated version of Hair Story. What do you think has been most relevant in the world of Black hair? I’m always listening.
